API in the Community
Our founder and owner, Ed & Joey McIlhon, live by the motto of "To whom much is given, much is expected." Their generous hearts continue to support several organziations through financial contributions and volunteer hours. Here are a few highlights:

Woodward Rescource Center
The API team wouldn’t be complete without our Woodward Resource Center partnership. The Woodward Resource Center assists individuals with intellectual and other disabilities throughout the state of Iowa. API provides a safe work environment for the Woodward team to participate in job-training exercises.

The mission of Woodward Resource Center (WRC) is to prepare and support individuals to live in the community of their choice. Discharge planning begins at admission. We value of partnership and love having Woodward as part of the API team.
Leadership Iowa
Leadership Iowa provides an in-depth look at a variety of important topics including economic development, education, government, agriculture and more. Leadership Iowa exists to educate, inspire and grow a network of informed leaders and to encourage their ongoing local and statewide involvement to create a better future for Iowans. API was proud to be a part of moving the state forward.
API Nuts
Joining a local softball league was not only a great way to get involved in the community, it was a fun way to come together as a team. As the team matched up against local teams of businesses and service organziations, we held our own and made a few friends along the way. Learn more about the team here.
Meals from the Heartland
Since 2008, Meals from the Heartland has provided over 220 million meals to the hungry in Iowa, across the U.S., and around the world. In 2023, API started our first contribution to the fight against hunger and assembled 20,000 meals in just 2 hours. Partnerships and assembly - it's what we do. We look forward to working together for years to come.
